Importing pay bands

Copy your out of Excel or Google Sheets and paste them in, rather than typing each one. You need the System Admin or Total Rewards Admin , and a spreadsheet with one band per row.

  1. In the sidebar, under Organization, select Pay bands.
  2. Select Paste from spreadsheet.
  3. Copy the rows from your spreadsheet and paste them into Paste rows.
  4. Select Add as rows.

Each pasted row becomes an unsaved row in the table, and nothing is saved yet. A message says how many rows are ready to review and how many were skipped because they held nothing usable.

With a header row, each column is matched by its name:

FieldHeader names it answers to
Gradegrade, grade_code, gradecode, code
Labellabel, name, title
Levellevel
Currencycurrency, ccy
Midpointmidpoint, base_midpoint, mid, base, salary
spread, range_spread

Without a header row, the columns are read in the table’s own order: grade, label, level, currency, midpoint, spread. A midpoint can carry a currency symbol and thousands separators, such as $118,000. A spread can be written 45, 45% or 0.45.

Check each row, then select Save. Every pasted row, and any band you edited, is saved in one go: either all of them are saved or none are. A row missing a , a currency, a midpoint or a spread says what is missing, and Save stays off until every row is complete. What each field needs is in Defining and changing pay bands.

If the save is refused, for instance because a grade code already has a band, nothing is saved. Every row stays as you left it, and the message says why. A single save carries at most 100 rows; with more, the page says so, and you save in batches.

Cancel discards every unsaved row and returns the table to the saved bands. A row’s own discard control removes just that row, and Clear empty rows removes the unsaved rows that hold nothing. If you leave the page with unsaved rows, you are asked first.
