Working a returned worksheet
Pick up a an approver has sent back, make the changes they asked for, and submit it again. You need a worksheet whose status is Returned.
How you find out
Section titled “How you find out”An approver who returns your worksheet has to say what needs to change. The moment they do, the worksheet is yours again. You’re told in two places:
- Your notifications carry Your worksheet was returned for changes, with the approver’s comment.
- An email with the same subject and comment, the submit-by date when there is one (Due by Planning’s end date), and Update your worksheet, which opens the worksheet.
Under Worksheets, the My worksheets tab lists it as Returned, and Home lists it under Needs you as Revise your returned worksheet, which names its cycle.
What you see
Section titled “What you see”At the top of the worksheet, Returned by and the approver’s name sits above their comment. The worksheet is open for changes again, just as it was before you submitted it, with every number you’d entered still on it.
The keeps the history. Each earlier submission sits under Earlier round with its number, showing who returned it and what they said, above a divider marked Current round. Read it at any time; it stays after you submit again.
Change it and submit again
Section titled “Change it and submit again”- Change what the comment asks for. Entering, explaining and promoting work exactly as they did the first time — see Entering a merit increase and Providing a rationale.
- Select Resubmit in the worksheet’s header, check Review before you submit, and select Submit for approval. See Reviewing and submitting the worksheet.
Your worksheet goes back to the start of the approval chain, so every approver sees the corrected plan, including the ones who approved it before. The Current round shows the first step waiting on its decision.
